FROM SOFT to FLEXIBLE OXYGEN PERMEABLE. HYPER OXYGEN PERMEABLE HYBRID LENSES to SOFT COMBI LENSES -lenses with rigid centres and soft edges. EVEN SCLERAL LENSES covering the whole eye!
We're now able to correct virtually every vision error even up to 30 dioptres of spherical error and 11 of astigmatism or more!
There are those you can throw away daily, weekly, monthly or 3 monthly and many are so sophisticated and safe you sleep in them for months at a time!
We've lenses to correct astigmatism, bifocals, varifocals, lenses for keratoconus, lenses to hide disfigured eyes, to change or enhance the eye colour, even crazy designs to your own drawings!
And don't forget our  , corrective lenses for short sight simply worn overnight to give clear, spec free vision for a further day.
We’ll advise what’s most suitable but below are some we fit most frequently.
FLEXIBLE & RIGID OXYGEN PERMEABLES
Usually only fitted by specialists. Now we’ve exciting new lens materials & designs that can be as comfy as soft & more oxygen permeable as well. Some can even be worn constantly to Sleep In for up to a month. Ideal for complex errors. Exceptionally safe and easy to care for, economical & giving vision usually even better than soft, they’re especially suited for dry eyes. They can correct any error of vision and be made as Bifocals, Varifocals or to correct any amount of Astigmatism.
SOFT SLEEP IN
Many types now FDA safety approved for occasional sleep in or up to 30 days. Being handled only 12 times a year makes them very hygienic and so the most convenient – high on our list of recommendations. Some ‘branded types’ have a limited range but we can custom design them for more complicated eyes!
SOFT DAILY WEAR MONTHLY DISPOSABLE
Needing only convenient one step overnight soaking and disposal usually monthly, they’re probably the most economic of all lenses. Available to correct astigmatism and in Bifocal & Multifocal designs. They come in the original Hydrogel materials, newer Biomimetic low drying plastics and the very latest designs are made from Silicone Hydrogels with special moisture loving surfaces for superb comfort.
SOFT DAILY DISPOSABLES
Most suitable for those who only want lenses for occasional use, holidays, social events, sports, swimming etc. A wide range of materials are now available with the new top end Silicone Hydrogel lenses providing the ultimate in comfort! If worn 365 days a year they’re generally the most expensive option.
SCLERAL or HAPTIC LENSES
These were the very first Contact Lenses ever to be fitted in the 1880's. Skillfully made by glass blowers they fitted right under the lids covering the whole of the eye. With the advent of plastics in the 1940's they were extensively used until the introduction of 'micro-corneal' lenses in the 1950's. Today they are made from Oxygen permeable plastics and still have a valuable role to play particularly for various pathological eye conditions such as Keratoconus.
