i-Go Overnight Vision Correction with Contact Lenses & DREAMLENS Ortho-K lenses -- how do they work??

i-Go logo

Overnight Vision Correction (OVC)  or  ORTHO-K is the correction of short sight while you sleep using special night time lenses which are removed in the morning for crisp and natural all day lens free vision. OVC is the new alternative to laser vision correction offering all the benefits of lens free vision during the day without any of the serious post-operative risks associated with laser vision - e.g. corneal scarring, hazy vision, dry eyes etc.

We fit several different designs of Orfho-K, Overnight Vision Correction lenses including DREAMLENS which was developed in Holland and has been fitted to tens of thousands of patients over the last 10 years.

By fitting more than one design we can cover a greater range of prescriptions - for instance DREAMLENS can correct more astigmatism than others as it is made in a special astigmatic form.

So how is this possible? Very simply, OVC lenses are special custom designed Contact Lenses that gently reshape the cornea while sleeping. Because the cornea is elastic it will take on the shape of the lens; the lenses must be worn every night to retain this shape.

What Does OVC / Ortho-K cost?

i-Go OVC is a contact lens treatment and is similar in price to wearing quality daily disposable contact lenses every day.

  • There is an initial consultation of £50 when we will confirm your suitability and go through all your questions in detail. We will also carry out various diagnostics including mapping and measuring your eyes with special computerised equipment.
  • If you decide to go ahead there will be a charge of £200 we will order your lenses and book your four follow up appointments.
  • There is an ongoing monthly direct debit payment of £40. This is to cover your spare lenses, ongoing eye checks, eye tests and any other aftercare you might need. New lenses and special cleaning solutions will be provided every 12 months in order to be sure that your lenses are in pristine condition and are always providing the optimum correction of your vision.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I really just sleep and see?

Yes, once the effect is complete you simply remove the lenses each morning and you can then see normally for the rest of the day. Also - and this is really clever - you will be able to see clearly with the lenses in when you wake up in the morning (or in the middle of the night). It really is a clear future 24/7!

How is it possible to wear lenses overnight?

OVC lenses are specifically designed to sleep in unlike many contact lenses. They are made of one of the very highest oxygen permeable materials for maximum comfort and safety during overnight wear. The other unique benefit with OVC is that unlike normal lens wear the eye spends its waking hours with natural oxygen levels, uninhibited by contact lenses.

How quickly will it work?

After the first night most of the necessary correction has been achived. Normally within a week your sight during the day will be 'treated' and you will no longer be reliant on glasses or contact lenses.

Is Overnight Vision Correction safe?

Yes. Research and experience show that the whole process is 100% reversible. So if you decide to stop wearing the lenses for whatever reason, the eye wil return to its original shape and you will see clearly with your glasses again. This makes OVC an excellent alternative to laser eye surgery. i-GO OVC & DREAMLENS Ortho-K lenses have already been fitted to over 100 thousand patients worldwide and there is full clinical resarch to back up their safety and effectivness.

OVC and dry eyes?

i-GO OVC is especially effective for people who have found their eyes too dry to accept daytime contacts. During sleep, virtually no tears are needed to float the contacts on unlike during the day - so now thousands see clearly througout their day courtesy of OVC lenses because they are only worn overnight!

Children and OVC?

OVC is absolutely ideal for children with early short sight. Several scientific studies are ongoing to confirm that Overnight Vision Correction controls the progression of short sight in young people. Since short sight is caused by changes in the eye's shape and OVC lenses physically control the corneal shape it is widely expected that the studies will conclude that OVC lenses actually STOP the progression of short sight!
