The very begining way back in 1973.

When  I first opened my practice to specialise in Contact Lens fitting in 1973 advertising was totally illegal.

I was probably the first independent Optician to take the risk of  'going alone' in such an uncharted area. All Jane, my first Optometric Assistant, and I could do to encourage new patients to consult us was to give the very best to those who found us, in the hope we would receive their recommendations!

AMAZINGLY IT WORKED - WE'RE STILL HERE AND THE PRACTICE FLOURISHES!

Because of our  unique approach and sophisticated modern equipment my new practice was  featured in the Profession's Journal 'The Optician'. With their permission I have reproduced some extracts from their 1973 article - I apologise if I look more mature and my hair is now shorter - that's one of the hazards of fitting Contact Lenses.
